vallon cottage is located in the beautiful village of youlgrave, just outside bakewell in the peak district. we are close to many attractions and towns. sheffield, chesterfield, derby, nottingham, matlock and ashboue are within easy driving distance and buxton provides excellent train services to manchester.

travelling south on the m1 come off at junction 28 and head for matlock and then towards bakewell and after a mile past rowsley village tu left.

travelling from the north come off at junction 29 and head for matlock or darley dale, then bakewell and following the same instructions as above.

the village can be reached from derby by tuing right at newhaven on the a515 ashboue to buxton road, tuing sharp left and following the well sign posted country roads. it can also be reached by tuing left, about a mile past rowsley village on the main matlock to bakewell road.
