Vallon cottage sleeps 4 people in 2 beautiful bedrooms. Main bedroom has a king size bed and bedroom 2 has double bed, both rooms will accomodate a travel cot. As you step through the humble front door of vallon there are many treats to surprise you. From the hallway you can venture upstairs to the large lofty sitting/reading room, it's peaceful, calm and is a great place to read or work.

Back downstairs to the hallway and you enter the shower room, it’s jazzy with bright orange and blue colours, a good shower, wash basin and toilet. The double bedroom with its quirky roof light, and amazing views across the valley, has a double bed with memory foam topper and bedding from India. Bose radio/cd player, chest of drawers and hanging area. Down two steps and you enter the master bedroom and bathroom. The king sized bed has a memory foam mattress, and the bedding is hand embroidered by women in Calcutta. Each piece takes around three months to create and is very beautiful. The bedspreads were made by women in Jodhpur in Rajastan, the rugs, again, from India. The master bedroom is very spacious, you can lie in bed and look out onto the wonderful view of the hillside. The sounds of the birds may wake you in the morning and if you're lucky the buzzard or the heron may be flying down the valley. There is a bose radio/cd player. The en-suite bathroom is huge with a two person bath, two basins and a good shower.

Downstairs and you step into the sitting room, which is a blaze of colour with its raspberry pink walls and brightly coloured cushions. There is a Sony flatscreen tv, Sony stereo system, many games, cd's and dvd's for your enjoyment. A clear view log burner nestles in the fireplace, it’s easy to light and will keep you warm and toasty. There is a log basket with enough logs for the fire.

The kitchen is well equipped and quirky with its open shelves and pantry area. There is a microwave/combination oven, Smeg oven, freezer, AEG fridge and Bosch dish washer also a hand mixer, toaster and all the utensils you may need.

The conservatory/dining room is full of colour and character and has fabulous views that take your eye to the hillsides beyond.   There is a round table and four chairs with an extra chair in the utility room. There is a Bose ipod/phone docking station along with many walking books and maps for your use.

The utility houses the washing machine and dryer along with umbrella and outside deckchairs etc, there are also hanging hooks for wet coats etc.

The terrace has an outside table and chairs for eating or reading the paper on those lazy holiday mornings - the views are breathtaking.

Whether you are looking for a romantic week or a place to use as a base while you explore derbyshire on foot, Vallon will provide just what you need. There is tea, coffee, milk and biscuits to help you relax after your journey.

Well behaved pets are occasionally allowed in Vallon cottage.
